Raita with Flavor Pop (Simple Yogurt Dip)

A cool, creamy yogurt sauce that balances bold tandoori dishes—made with fresh cucumber, herbs, and finished with Flavor Pop sea salt for a subtle crunch of Maldon flakes, toasted cumin, and a hint of chili heat.

Serves 3-4; Ready in 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (full-fat = best texture + flavor)

  • ½ cup finely chopped or grated cucumber (squeeze out water)

  • 1 clove of garlic, minced

  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped

  • ½ tsp ground cumin

  • ¼ tsp salt (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp Flavor Pop

  • Pinch black pepper

  • squeeze of lemon or lime juice

  • Optional: pinch chili powder or paprika

  • Optional: Finish with a drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prep cucumber
Grate or finely chop, then squeeze out excess water (this keeps raita thick, not watery).

  2. Add everything in large bowl
Stir in cucumber, cilantro, cumin, salt, garlic, pepper, lemon, salts.

  3. Taste + adjust
Add more salt or lemon depending on what you’re pairing it with.

  4. Chill (optional but better)
Let sit 10–15 minutes so flavors meld.

Cooking Tips

  • Thin it slightly with 1–2 tbsp water if you want a drizzle for bowls.

  • Add a pinch of Tandoori Twist instead of cumin/spices

  • Try switching out or mixing of herbs such as mint, parsley, cilantro, or dill

Simple Pairings

  • Spoon over tandoori bowls, grilled meats/kebabs, roasted vegetables, or with any of my sheet pan meals.

  • Great for a sandwich spread including tandoori burgers

  • Serve along side rice dishes especially my curry rice
